Transferring your .EU Domain Name to Another Registrar
There
may be cases where you wish to transfer your Domain Names away from 1stEuro.Net,
to another Registrar. The following process will assist you in ensuring a smooth Transfer of your Domain Name to the Registrar of
your choice.
IMPORTANT
- In case of
a Domain Name Transfer, the Expiry date is updated to 1 year from the date
of Transfer and not to 1 year from the date the domain name was set to
expire prior to Transfer.
For example, if a Domain Name has the Expiry date as
24 Oct, 2007 and it gets Transferred to another Registrar on 2 Sep, 2007.
The new Expiry date will be 2 Sep, 2008 and not 24 Oct, 2008.
- If
you have placed Registration/Renewal Order for multiple years and you decide
to have the Domain Name Transferred Away from 1stEuro.Net
to another Registrar, while your Domain Name is still valid for one or more
years with respect to the Order you had placed initially, you stand to
forfeit the number of years remaining. Also there would be no refund
provided for payment made for this unutilized Domain Name validity term.
Examples:
I. Multiple Year Registration
a. You choose to register yourdomain.eu for 4 years on
26-Aug-2006.
b. 1stEuro.Net will set the Expiry date of
yourdomain.eu as 26-Aug-2010 in our System.
c. Now on 1-Aug-2007, if you decide to have the Domain Name
Transferred Away, the new Expiry date after Transfer will be
1-Aug-2008. The three years unutilized in the Domain Name validity
term with respect to the 4 years Registration Order placed initially
by you will not be considered. Also, there would not be any refund
for the payment made by you for the 3 unutilized years.
II. Multiple Year Renewal
a. You choose to renew your-other-domain.eu for 4 years on
26-Aug-2006.
b. 1stEuro.Net will set the Expiry date of
your-other-domain.eu as 26-Aug-2010 in our System.

Step 2: Apply for the Transfer at the New Registrar
Once you have determined whether a Domain Name can be transferred, you will need
to apply for the Transfer at the Registrar of your choice. Please refer to the
New Registrars Transfer Process for the same. They will have certain steps to
verify your identity and then place the Transfer Request on your behalf.
Step 3: Respond to confirmation Mail sent from the Registry
In order to ensure that it is indeed an Authorized Person who has
placed the Transfer request, the Registrant Contact
for the Domain Name will receive an e-mail from the Registry for the Transfer
Authorization process, which needs to be approved within 7 days. The Registry
provides an additional grace period of 7 days for approval, in case the Transfer
was not approved within the initial 7 day period. The authorization can also be
provided through a fax to the Registry from the Registrant Contact. The request is processed once the Registry
receives approval from the Registrant.
